Thing #5

B - Bilisten O card letter o Wooden Tile K coloured card disc letter s

I finally got this to work but I would never be able to explain how I did it nor would I be able to do it the same way twice. I am very impressed by all of the toys Flickr has to offer but also very overwhelmed. I know that with practice I can become much more comfortable, but at this stage I feel more frustrated. I'm sure this would be a wonderful tool for brochures and pamphlets for the library but it's a little time consuming. Very fun though!

Thing #4

I finally figured out how to get the photo from Flickr to my blog, (which is much easier than I would have thought.) This is so neat! I am going to start archiving my photos using this program right away. I would love to use this feature for the library. It would be great to have photos of fun and interesting programs going on here. A very useful tool!

Thing #3

RSS is so cool! I love the convenience of having everything delivered to me, instead of trying to search it out. I am using Google reader but I think I will try Blogger as well to see which format I like better. I'm excited to try all of the tools and add to my list. I think I will be a better blogger with RSS, much to my friends' delight.

Thing #2

I am so excited to learn more skills and tools on the Internet. I have not advanced my computer repertoire since I got out of school. I think I am joined by quite a few people in this type of limbo. I am comfortable with what I know but would like to know more. I just needed a place to start. So this opportunity is a perfect diving board. I think a lot of people get stuck in their comfort level and don't venture out. It will be interesting to see how Library 2.0 affects many of those stationary people. There are still plenty of people who are too intimidated to use the online catalog or who get lost while using it. While I am more than happy to assist them in their search for a book I would never want to be in their situation. I want to keep current with computer advances so that I don't fall so far behind and it feels impossible to catch up.

The hardest part of getting this blog up and running was thinking of a name. I'm just not clever enough. But now it's done and I can move on.
